Sex robot SKELETON revealed: Watch world's first 3D printer MOVING cyborg in action

Robotics developer DS Doll, based in the far eastern city of Dalian, is aiming to create and mass produce the world’s first commercially viable sex robot able to move autonomously. A team of scientists and engineers at the DS doll factory are using 3D printing technology to create the component parts of the artificial intelligent robot. The company said the first prototype of the full movement android, with a moveable head, body, arms and legs, is “almost complete”, meaning developers can progress to the “next step” – the legs. A video released by DS Doll highlights the progress the firm is making in building a functional android that can move its entire body without human control. In the 20-second video, the cyborg suddenly shakes to life before making jerky movements with both its hands in scenes that would not be out of place in a sci-fi movie. From the neck upwards, the robot appears almost human as a silicone cast and wig covering its head mirrors the features of a real woman with incredible attention to detail.

But below the neck, the mechanical interior of the robot is exposed, showing the complex structure of a skeleton designed to mimic the human body to scale. DS Doll’s chief development officer Qiao Wu told Daily Star Online the skeleton is made with “metal parts” that were created by a 3D printer. The 3D printing technology operated by DS Doll has the capability to make sex robot replicas of humans by scanning their full body into the software. Wu said the robot is controlled through a bespoke software system running on an Apple MacBook.

At a glance, the skeleton is not too dissimilar to the anatomy of the formidable robotic assassin depicted in the Terminator film series, but Ds Doll’s cyborg is made for a very different purpose.   Wu said that, while androids will be built for sexual purposes, they will be used for other services and functions as well, including human companionship and clerical work. He said: “The full body robot will have more physical expression to help with human communication. “One day, we hope the robot can be used in etiquette, presentation, human companionship, front desk services and other areas.”

In the meantime, DS Doll has nearly completed the first generation of sex robots, which are expected to be released in the near future. The robotic heads attached to sex doll bodies are expected to cost between £2,895 and £3,195 for the premium range. Wu said the full movement robot will “cost more” when it goes on sale but stressed “we are still in the researching process”. He added: “The robot in the video can only move the upper body, including the arms. “It is phased result of our robotics development.” Wu said the company will “need time” to complete a full body movement android that can be sold to customers on the global market. If development continues at its current rate, he said the firm is hoping the autonomous cyborg will be ready for customers to buy within the next few years.

Wu said full movement robots will be designed for a range of “services”, including, but not limited to, sexual pleasure, domestic help and social care. He said: “For a sex doll, a robot head is okay, but our robot will be a service robot. “We want it to move all of its body. We hope our robot will not only have a sex function, but can help and serve people in the future as well.” Other tech firms are also attempting to create a sex robot with full body movement with varying degrees of success.California-based firm Realbotix said making designs for moveable arms and hands will be one of its “big focuses” in 2018.

But Sam, a marketing manager for DS Doll, said the company has made “significant progress” in research and development this year. “There have been great advancements with both the imminent technology and that which will follow in the coming months and years,” said Sam, who represents Cloud Climax, the flagship DS Doll reseller in Europe and the UK. “Further progress is being made into neck movements and also into full doll autonomic movement for further down the development line. “There is a large team of research and development engineers at DS Dolls that are continuously working on both new products and current product improvement.”
